Pet grooming
A grooming towel is used one-handed, on a moving animal, and has to absorb more per square centimetre than a human towel does.
The constraint in grooming is not comfort but control. The groomer holds the animal with one hand and the towel with the other, so the towel has to absorb quickly and stay in one piece without being wrung carefully.
That pushes specification toward a heavier web with enough tensile strength to be pulled against resistance — and away from the light, soft constructions that work on human skin.
Common mistakes
- Repurposing a human towel for grooming and finding it shreds
- Choosing a soft grade that saturates before the coat is dry
