Barbershops
The barber towel is small, folded twice, and often applied warm — which is a different test from a salon towel.
A barbershop uses a smaller towel than a salon, folds it tighter, and frequently applies it warm after shaving. Warmth relaxes the web slightly and makes any weakness at the fold line visible, so the failure mode is a split along the crease rather than a hole in the middle.
We therefore treat the crease as the critical zone when quoting this application: the fold direction relative to the web grain matters more here than in any other use we quote.
Common mistakes
- Specifying a large salon format and cutting it down in-house
- Assuming a towel that survives cold folding survives warm folding
Other applications
Send us the specification you are working to.
A target weight, a pack format, a market and an annual volume is enough to start. A sample of what you use today is better.
