Aperture pattern
The hole pattern formed into a web by the screen or drum during entanglement.
Aperture pattern
Apertures are shapes pressed into the web by the forming surface. They are not printed and they do not wash out; the pattern is a physical feature of the structure, which is why a patterned towel keeps its texture through repeated use.
Pattern choice affects more than appearance: open area changes how quickly liquid passes through, how the sheet drapes, and how visible any shed fibre becomes against a dark surface.
